Katie Shirley's Closet, with your help, supports Daystar

Katie Shirley’s Closet was born of a mother’s enduring love for her only child that she tragically lost in June 2007. In her effort to perpetuate the

beautiful and generous spirit of her daughter Kate, Stephanie Shirley founded the organization with hopes to help others in need, all in Katie’s memory.

Since then, Katie’s Closet has established a mutually beneficial partnership with Daystar for Medically Fragile Infants, Inc.

All proceeds from the sale of our jewelry supports their complex mission of serving many families whose vulnerable babies require care above and beyond what a traditional day care facility could ever provide.

Katie’s Closet thrives on the kindness and creativity of the volunteers who selflessly spend their valued time in creating unique jewelry in the likeness of Katie and for the benefit of Daystar babies. Some items we carry include a variety of exclusive handmade bracelets, necklaces, earrings, keychains and lanyards. We also design Bride’s jewelry and Bridal Party gifts. We have an extensive line of unique, inspirational and awareness jewelry that make special gifts, all for a good cause.

Expanding on the jewelry party concept, Katie’s Closet offers “parties with a purpose” with our Build A Bracelet party. Guests are welcome to come to our workshop and experience what goes on behind the scenes while designing their own creations with the assistance of our wonderful volunteers. Not only is a fun time had by all, you leave with a beautiful bracelet, but also with knowing that your purchase will benefit some special children and their beloved families.

Katie Shirley’s Closet and Daystar have also teamed up with Evening Star Coffee Roasters in creating our very own blend of coffee. The blend, from the African and Arabia coffee region, features a floral, fruity and chocolate aroma inspired by St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. For every bag of St. Pio sold, Evening Star Coffee Roasters will make a contribution of 25 cents to Daystar. The coffee is available for purchase online at www.eveningstarcoffeeroasters.com or at local retailers, businesses or grocery stores.

Stephanie is in no doubt that Katie would be proud to have her likeness associated with so many magnificent people who have demonstrated such generosity, all in her name. From the Katie’s Closet volunteers, to those who have made a purchase, the Daystar babies continue to depend on our kindness in their hopes to live a meaningful childhood. Thank you!
