Daystar for Medically Fragile Infants - Where Love Shines
Daystar for Medically Fragile Infants, Inc. is New York State’s first and only nursing supervised, licensed childcare center for medically fragile infants up to age three. It is specifically designed to serve families whose vulnerable babies require care above and beyond traditional daycare. The one of a kind program meets the medical and social needs of its tiny patients and their families with nursing supervised medical daycare as well as on-site music therapy, special education and a Parent Support and Family Advocacy Program.
Today, Daystar is a lifeline for area parents. Daystar families are faced with the challenges of planning and seeking medical and community resources in a system that is not always easy to navigate, in addition to experiencing the numerous personal and family stress caused by the constant needs of a sick baby. Daystar has carefully designed its program to provide essential services to the entire family of these medically fragile infants.
Daystar is grateful for the generous philanthropic support and volunteer hours, helping us keep costs low as we provide our best practice model of care. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available and many ways you can help. Collecting supplies, administrative tasks, organizing a supply drive, or hosting/attending a Daystar fundraiser are just some of the great ways to get involved.
